This privacy policy (“Policy”) explains how MITSUKO ONO MARGOT KUBOTA (“we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information in the iOS app “PD Meter – Pupillary Distance” (“the App”).
1. Scope
This Policy applies only to PD Meter – Pupillary Distance.
Other apps we provide may have different practices; please refer to each app’s own policy.
2. Controller / Provider
- Developer & Provider: MITSUKO ONO MARGOT KUBOTA
- Contact: See Section 15 (Contact)
3. Information We Collect
We handle only the minimum information necessary to provide the App’s features.
3.1 Device permissions & sensor data
- Camera feed (processed in real time only; not stored)
- TrueDepth / ARKit face-tracking data (see Section 6)
- Device model, iOS version, language/region (for stability and correct UI display)
3.2 Advertising (if enabled)
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) and coarse usage metrics for ad delivery and fraud prevention (see Section 9)
4. How We Collect
We obtain the above data directly from the device at runtime, for on-device processing only.
If you contact us, we may collect the information you provide (e.g., email address) to respond to your inquiry.
5. Purposes of Use
We use the information for:
- Providing PD (pupillary distance) measurement and UI features (Far PD, near PD estimate, per-eye PD, distance/position guides)
- Display/UI rendering, app stability, and quality improvement (e.g., crash analysis)
- Compliance with laws, terms, and handling inquiries
6. TrueDepth / Face Data (ARKit Face Tracking)
The App uses Apple’s TrueDepth API (ARKit Face Tracking).
Data accessed temporarily on device
- Per-frame positions of the left and right eyes (e.g.,
leftEyeTransform
/rightEyeTransform
) - Face anchor transform (pose)
- Estimated device-to-face distance
Not collected / not stored
- Raw depth maps, face mesh vertices, blend-shape coefficients
- Biometric identifiers/templates or any facial recognition data
Purpose limitation & on-device processing
These data are used solely to compute and display PD and to present alignment/distance guides, processed in real time on device.
They are not used for identification, authentication, advertising targeting, or profiling.
7. Retention, Storage, and Sharing
- TrueDepth-derived face data are processed temporarily in memory and are discarded immediately after use and when the App is closed.
- We do not upload such data to servers, do not store them on our servers, and do not share them with third parties.
- Even where advertising/analytics SDKs are used, no face data are shared (see Section 9).
8. Screenshots
If you choose to save or share a screenshot, the image may include the 2D camera image and on-screen measurements/overlays.
Screenshots never include TrueDepth depth data or facial geometry. Screenshots are saved locally (e.g., Photos) or shared via the iOS share sheet at your request; we do not receive a copy.
9. Third-Party SDKs (Advertising)
The App may use the following SDK for advertising. No TrueDepth-derived face data are shared with ad providers.
- Google AdMob (ad delivery / fraud prevention / frequency capping / measurement)
Possible data: IDFA, device info (model, iOS version), coarse usage info, IP address (for coarse location, fraud prevention)
Policies:- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Ads Policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
If you do not see ads in your build/region or you disabled tracking, AdMob collection may be reduced accordingly.
10. Third-Party Provision
Except where required by law, we do not provide users’ personal information to third parties without consent.
11. Security
We implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., access controls and encryption where appropriate) to protect information we handle.
12. Your Choices & Rights
- Camera permission: You can deny Camera access in iOS settings. In that case, face-measurement features will be unavailable.
- Tracking (IDFA): You can deny App Tracking Transparency (ATT). Denying tracking may limit ad personalization.
- For access/correction/deletion requests, please contact us (we will respond within a reasonable scope after verifying your identity).
13. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
14. Cross-Border Processing
We do not store face data on servers; however, advertising SDK processing may occur outside your country/region in accordance with each provider’s policy and applicable laws.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time (e.g., due to legal or feature changes). Material changes will be announced in the App or on our website.
